I'm recording a lot of songs for an album at moment and recorded this song called 'Stationary' which I didn't intend to be for a next album so it's hanging around so I thought why not just release it out there.

It was written on piano and possibly influenced by music of Gilbert O'Sullivan, 'She's Leaving Home' by The Beatles, The Beautiful South vibes, Jona Lewie 'Kitchen at Parties', Madness, 1970s kids TV music like The Mr Men etc.

I had the idea for lyrics for a while and it's about a relationship breakup which is coming back together. I wanted the situation to be based around the arrival on a train (like in the old movies sort of thing). I suppose we don't know whether the couple in the song ever actually get back together so there is a kind of happy / sad / nervous mood to the music sometimes (as was my intention).

Anyway - the song is free for everyone. Hope you like it.
