This e.p. consists of 4 songs that I've recently been working on, abandoning for a while and then going back to - to finally complete. 'Saturday Is Calling' and 'Cosmos World' were intended for the next Armstrong album but I decided I wanted to release a few songs for the beginning of summer.
I like the idea of an E.P. release and like the concept that the 4 chosen songs should be different in style and have their own kind of personalities.
Track 1: 'Saturday Is Calling' - I wanted to write something simple. a jangly pop song to celebrate my favourite day of the week. I especially love Saturday mornings.
Track 2: ' Cosmos World' is a song I wrote on piano about being brave and getting out and doing things that you feel you ought to do but get stuck in the same old ways. I Wanted to do a song which was 'Space Oddity' like. (although I know this song sounds nothing like it) I also wanted to try and use some good old 1980s synth sounds in places.
Track 3 - We Could Stay Friends is demo like and I lost some of the recording by accident (guitar bits) but nevertheless - quite like it's acoustic feel.
Track 4: 'Summer Is Here' is a song that I actually wrote when I was 10 or 11 years old and it's been stuck in my head ever since. When I wrote it at the time, it felt like my first proper song. I've kept the title in the recording along with the melodies but added harmonies etc. I took the opportunity to make this song into a fun, happy kind of vibe
The songs are basic recordings on a 12 track machine that I use at home but I hope you like these 4 songs. I may release another 4 track E.P soon and have lots of songs written ready for the next Armstrong album.

The greatest to ever do it, do it again! Sometimes lush as a warm blanket, sometimes all the angles of a dance party, always suspended in and out of time _hopskipjump
